I've always been a collector of feelings — the moments that stay with you long after they’ve passed. I think that’s why I’m always making something from them: something to keep, something to hold, something that can bring me back to exactly how it all felt.

-Shae

Hi, I’m Shae.

Photographer, maker, lifelong memory keeper, and the heart behind Kept.

I think I’ve been trying to hold onto moments for as long as I can remember. When I was seven, I drew little film strips by hand. Then came scrapbooks, home movies, photographs, boxes of tiny things I couldn’t quite throw away, and eventually a career built around preserving stories.

For more than 12 years, I’ve been making keepsakes through wedding films, photography, scrapbooking and memory keeping. In 2021, I began photographing children from my living room, and that work opened up something in me I didn’t want to lose — the joy of noticing who a child really is, the privilege of watching families return, and the way a photograph can become more precious with every year that passes.

Kept feels like the grown-up evolution of everything I’ve always loved.

It brings together photographs, handmade keepsakes, family stories, art, handwriting, recipes and all the little pieces of a life that can make you stop, exhale, and remember.

I’m also a multi-business owner, creative soul, worldschooling single mama, Chihuahua lover, beach obsessive, singer, enthusiastic idea machine, and perhaps a little too chatty.

But more than anything, I’m someone who loves people deeply. I want your children to feel safe, seen and genuinely liked when they’re with me. I want you to know I’m paying attention. I want to remember the little things with you — who they were last year, what changed, what stayed the same, and what this season felt like while you were living it.

And when you bring me something meaningful to turn into a keepsake, I want to understand why it matters before we ever make it. Because to me, these aren’t just photographs and objects. They are pieces of the people we love. Love, made tangible.

I want to remember how this life felt.

The faces, the handwriting, the little stories, the love — all of it deserves somewhere to stay.
